The bubs is six months old! At the risk of sounding cliche — how time flies. The last month saw the bubs hitting many milestones — learning to call out to the hubs and me in gibberish (“Eh!” “Ah” and little grunts), learning to differentiate the hubs and me from the crowd, trying her first solids (avocado and brown rice cereal!), crawling and today — yet a new thing — learning to sit up (sideways). Every day is like a mini adventure as I watch the world through Ariel’s eyes. How she loves the sound of crinkly plastic, how bright colors and patterns attract her undivided attention as she traces the patterns with her fingers, her determined effort to crawl and reach for a particular toy as if everything depended on it. She squeals when she’s excited, cries when she’s tired. If someone wants to know what a person who’s an open book is like, just look for a baby. Many people have asked me what and how motherhood has been like for me. I’d usually exclaim “tiring!” but at the same time, it has been so rewarding. Babies know who loves them and they love unabashedly in return, with outstretched, open arms (and with fingers that are often times wet with drool).
Baby Ariel, you are over and beyond what mommy and daddy could have prayed for and expect, and we love you so much. Looking forward to the many more milestones you are going to hit! 🙂
